ABSTRACT

Chinese tourists have essential economic and cultural exchange values for Thai tourism. The present research on Chinese tourists traveling to Thailand (CTTT) has made a significant breakthrough, but it rarely observes the research status quo, hot spots, and the future based on bibliometric methods and visualization technology. Based on 710 articles on the Web of Science (WoS), Cite Space visualization technology was used to analyze the publishing trend of CTTT, authors, institutions, countries, keywords, and categories, and build a knowledge map about CTTT. The study found that although the positive trend of published articles indicates excellent future development, the overall number of published articles is not ideal. Moreover, research on this topic has made significant progress and breakthroughs in the healthcare field, meaning that there is still much research space in the business and economic areas. Thai institutions and scientific research institutions and their scholars have significantly contributed to CTTT. They focus more on healthcare, disease, health, sexual safety, and equality in travel. Although there is an increasing focus on consumer behavior, habits, and models, However, the research on CTTT under the background of the digital economy, sharing economy, big data, artificial intelligence, and the COVID-19 pandemic is of great research value. Therefore, this study encourages different countries, institutions, and scholars to do more on this topic. Furthermore, interdisciplinary research is even more critical. © 2022.

ABSTRACT

In recent years, population health has aroused great interest, especially after the outbreak of Covid-19. The related research increases substantially year by year. There are many kinds of research about population health, but few scholars use the bibliometric method to discuss them. Motivated by keeping abreast of emerging trends and critical turns in population health, this study adopts the bibliometric method to analyze the development history and status quo of population health, providing a summary description for it. This study adopts CiteSpace to conduct a bibliometric analysis of publications related to population health in Web of Science from 1971 to 2021. The most productive countries, authors, institutions, and research direction changes are analyzed. The research results show that: First, the number of publications and citations related to population health increases for years, especially in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. Second, the number of publications by different countries or institutions in population health varies greatly, and they cooperate closely. Third, the co-occurrence of disciplines and keywords in population health is displayed. Finally, this study reveals the primary research force, the major themes, significant milestones, landmarks, and the evolution of the hot fronts. In all, the comprehensive analysis of this study would provide some enlightenment for future research.

ABSTRACT

Academic research in tourism and hospitality sector adds value directly to the way the industry grows and develops. Scholars in this area struggle with the pressures to publish in high ranking journals. The present study attempts to help doctoral students and tourism educators in identifying emerging themes in the tourism and hospitality arising out after COVID-19 pandemic. Using bibliometric analysis, five broad areas of emerging research themes are identified. Such research would further help managers, tourism related state administrators, and firm owners to recover from the devastating impact of COVID-19 on the industry across the world.

ABSTRACT

Although tourism has increasingly become an important activity with wide influences on the economic, social, and spatial development of a city, knowledge and interest mostly remain on its industrial performance and promotion. The synergy between tourism and city development is largely overlooked in many cases, resulting in suboptimal design and planning of city tourism activities and unfledged potentials of city development. The aim of the paper is to propose a view of tourism–industrial complex based on a synergistic perspective in order to clarify the systematic characteristics of urban tourism in an integrated, sustainable manner. Availing of bibliometric methods and drawing on city/urban tourism literature, this paper proposes a concept of tourism–industrial complex to cover current complicated and various tourism activities that are embedded in cities at diverse levels regardless of social, economic, and spatial factors. Then, four types of tourism–industrial complexes are proposed, including demand-driven, resource-dependent, externally forced, and hybrid-driven models. Due to the networked connectivity of urban tourism, urban backgrounds, tourism industry, and external circumstances all contribute to a coupling the tourism city development system. The results provide theoretical constructs and policy recommendations for optimization and sustainable city and tourism development.

ABSTRACT

Global scientific production around the Covid-19 pandemic, in the various disciplines on the various international scientific bibliographic databases, has grown exponentially. The latter builds a source of scientific enrichment and an important lever for most researchers around the world, each of its field and its position with an ultimate aim of overcoming this pandemic. In this direction, bibliometric data constitute a fundamental source in the process of evaluation of scientific production in the academic world; bibliometrics provides researchers and institutions with crucial strategic information for the enhancement of their research results with the local and international scientific community, especially in this international pandemic.
